HISTORY

Brookwood High School was established in 1928 for the Tuscaloosa County School System. The first building was built in the town of Abernant, Alabama. Brookwood is a coal mining community that extends back to the 1880s, then named Horsehead. The high school is currently a 6A school, serving almost 1,000 students.
