• ALABAMA ALL-STATE SHOW CHOIR FESTIVAL

All-State Show Choir Festival
  • What is this event?

The Alabama All-State Show Choir is an elite performance ensemble made up of Alabama high school students. They audition with a rigorous vocal and dance audition, are selected to the group, then learn and present a show chosen by their clinicians at the AMEA Festival.

    Who should audition?

Any choral student with director approval (students with excessive absences or discipline referrals will not be approved).  Students who are talented dancers will especially enjoy this experience.

What do I have to do to audition?

Students will learn 4 pieces of show choir music as well as a short choreography excerpt (on their own time).  Students will make videos of themselves singing each song and the dance excerpt.  These submissions will be scored by an adjudicator.

    When is it?

The audition deadline is usually in January.  The festival is usually held in April.  See this year’s paperwork for specific dates.

    How much does it cost?

    • To audition, you pay $40-50 (see this year’s paperwork).
    • If you are selected for All-State, an additional amount (usually $100-$150) will be due closer to the time of the festival.

What does the audition fee cover?

    • All-State Show Choir Music Packet
    • School and Individual audition fee
    • Rehearsal tracks

What does the additional cost cover?

    • All-State Show Choir Festival Registration cost

    • Fill out the permission form
    • Return permission form by the deadline
    • After these steps are completed, we will provide you with an All-State Show Choir music packet and rehearsal tracks
