    National Honor Society

    Welcome!
National Honor Society is a nationwide organization for high school students that focuses on scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Our chapter, the Black Warrior Chapter, includes both juniors and seniors. We focus on helping our community, faculty, and student body in any way we can.

To become a member, any junior with at least a 3.5 GPA average in all core classes may apply. Additionally, the student must have taken either an advanced or honors course in each core subject during the 9th, 10th, and 11th grade years. Students that meet this criteria will then be rated by the faculty on their character, leadership, and service.  Once a student passes that process, he or she will be offered the opportunity to join the Black Warrior Chapter of National Honor Society.

Once inducted, the student must be committed to earning the set number of service hours per year by participating in events and coming to the meetings each month. New members are typically selected in September.

If a student is interested in applying, please be listening to announcements in August and September.  You will need to get an application from the appropriate sponsor and turn it in by the set due date.
