Dear Parents,
I LOVE teaching at the MAX! I grew up in Gordo, Alabama, then graduated from the University of West Alabama. I taught Kindergarten for two years at Gordo Elementary before moving here to the MAX. I taught Kindergarten for 5 years, and am in my 17th year of teaching First Grade. I have an abundant love of teaching and of children. My favorite time in the world is sitting with a child when he/she discovers his/her own personal LOVE for reading! I have been married for 24 years to my husband, Joe Guy Jr., also from Pickens County. We have two wonderful children who keep us very busy. Our daughter Danielle is 20, and is about to graduate from Shelton and transfer to THE University of Alabama. Our son Dillan is in 10th grade at Hillcrest High School. We live and attend church in Northport. I can't live without my church, my family, and listening to KLOVE! I make sure that my students know that I will forever consider them my babies! I look forward to working with you and your child this year. I am convinced that all children can become readers, as long as they have a strong team of teachers and parents behind them. There is no better feeling than teaching a child to not only read, but to LOVE to read! My goal is to take them wherever they are and encourage them to push as hard as they can to reach the goals we have set for them. Please feel free to call me or request a meeting if you have any questions or concerns whatsoever. We are a team, and my door is always open! I am excited about this year, and can't wait to meet and teach your child!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kim Guy
