    Students of the Maxwell Elementary School comprehensive school counseling program possess the academic, social/emotional, and career knowledge and skills of lifelong learners. They have the grit and resilience needed to achieve success and reach their fullest potential. They appreciate diversity and effectively use empathy to positively affect their home, school, and community. 

     

    Maxwell Elementary School Counseling Program Mission Statement

    The mission of the Maxwell Elementary School Counseling Department is to provide all students with equal access to comprehensive and developmentally appropriate counseling services which promote equity in achievement. The school counselor will advocate for every students’ needs so they acquire the knowledge and skills to be college and career-ready and successful lifelong learners. By collaborating with counselors, students, educators, parents, and community members, the school counseling program will have the support and resources to prepare students to compete in a global society.

    * Every student can learn, and every student can succeed.

    * Every student should have access to a school counseling program.

    *Effective school counseling is a collaborative process involving school counselors, students, families, teachers, administrators, and other school staff and education stakeholders.

    *School counseling programs promote and enhance student academic, career, and social/emotional outcomes.

    *All students should be treated with respect, no matter their race, ethnicity, culture, gender, religion, etc.

    *Each and every student has worth and dignity. The school counselor advocates for all students, because they matter.

    *Every student should have access to and opportunity for a high-quality education.
