  • I am so thrilled to start my sixth year at Maxwell Elementary as the Principal (I served as THE MAX's AP for 5 years)!  THE MAX is truly an AMAZING place filled with a wonderful faculty and staff, smiling students, supportive parents and an outstanding community.  I look forward to a GREAT 2021-2022 school year!     BIO

    Frances Ann Baggett is a native of Haleyville, Alabama, where she developed her love for children, academics and athletics.  Her passion for working with children was enhanced from her years of service at church, the Haleyville Boys and Girls Youth Club and the Tuscaloosa Y.M.C.A.  Ms. Baggett attended The University of Alabama graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in elementary education.  She furthered her education at The University with a master's degree in special education and a second master's degree in instructional leadership.

    Ms. Baggett's professional career began as a classroom teacher at Crestmont Elementary School, where she spent eight years teaching third and fourth grade, including a year as a split level (second and third grade) classroom teacher.  She then taught at Faucett-Vestavia Elementary School before being named assistant principal at Maxwell Elementary School in 2016.  Ms. Baggett is an active member of many community and professional organizations including First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa, United Methodist Women, Alabama Education Association, Council of Leaders in Alabama Schools and Alabama Association of Elementary School Administrators.
