    Maxwell Elementary in brief

    School Mascot - Mustang

    Maxwell Elementary was originally constructed in 1972 and has since received several modifications. In July 2003 a thirteen classroom addition was completed. Currently there are approximately 540 students enrolled in the Pre-Kindergarten thru Fifth Grade. 

    Maxwell Elementary has 28 homeroom classrooms that are all connected to the internet service, and boasts a well-stocked library, multi-purpose building for p.e. on inclimate days, school cafeteria, and a full-time counselor. There are four Special Education teachers, a Speech Teacher, one Reading Specialist, and a Mathematics/Reading Lab Instructor that provide additional instruction for our students.

    Maxwell Elementary is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). 

     

    Class Schedule : 7:50am - 2:40 pm

    Breakfast 7:30 - 7:50am

    Lunch 10:40 - 1:00pm

    The school is located just 4 miles south of Tuscaloosa, Alabama in the rural and beautiful Duncanville area.
