What is Dual Enrollment?

Dual Enrollment allows eligible high school students to enroll in college classes while still in high school.  The grade the student receives in the college class will count for both college and high school credits.  

Who can take Dual Enrollment Classes?

Shelton State:

To be eligible for Dual Enrollment, students must be in 10th, 11th or 12th, grade.

Students must have a minimum of 2.0 cumulative GPA in completed high school courses to take technical courses and a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA in high school courses to take academic courses.  

UA Early College:

You can apply to UA Early College anytime during your sophomore, junior or senior year of high school if you have a 3.0 or higher GPA,* cumulative from the 9th grade.

*High school grade point average must be at least 3.0 on a 4 point scale, or the equivalent, cumulative from the 9th grade.

What Are the Deadlines?

Shelton State Application Dates: April 1 - July 1 for admittance in the fall 2022 semester.

UA Early College Application Dates: April 29 - June 17 for admittance in the fall 2022 semester.

Are Scholarships Available?

YES! Many Dual Enrollment students earn these credits for little or no cost!
