• My name is George Cobb and I am so glad to be the music teacher for Holt High School as well as for Davios-Emerson Middle School. I am pleased to have the students of Holt High School in my classes and ensembles. I am originally from Scottsboro, AL where I attended and graduated from Scottsboro High School. I am a proud HBCU (Historically Black College and University) graduate of Alabama A & M University. There I recieved my Bachelor's and Master's Degree. I also hold certifications in Orff Level 1 from Sanford University and Elementary/ General Music Curriculum from the University of Southern Mississippi. I also have 65 course hours toward a doctorate degree from Nove Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, FL. I taught music and band for the Scottsboro City Schools for 13 years, Pell City Schools for a year, Muscogee County Schools, GA @ Shaw High for 9 years, Birmingham, AL City Schools for a year and half before coming to Tuscaloosa County Schools. I have been teaching over 25 years (year  27 for 2020-2021).

I love my students and I love family. Everything I do is to make sure that my students can and will be successful at whatever they do. I pride myself on being fair to every student who enters my class. So far to date I have helped over 35 plus students obtain college/music scholarships to the university or college of their choice.  I plan on continuing the same as before.
