    Heather Pate

    Hi, I’m Heather Pate, and I am a Preschool Teacher here in the Tuscaloosa County School System.  I work as a developmental evaluator for ages 2-6 for current students and new referrals.  I also assist with preschool service coordination for our school system.   This is my 16th year working in Tuscaloosa County, and previously worked in DeKalb County School System in Georgia for 7 ½ years.  I am originally from Tuscaloosa, AL, and graduated from The University of Alabama with a dual degree in general and special education for young children.  My husband and I have a 14 year old daughter and a 10 year old son.  We love spending time with family and friends, doing things outdoors, as well as cheering on the Tide!  I lam passionate about working with young children, and seeing a child bloom and reach their full potential in their development as they grow, with whatever that may be from learning to engage with others, talk, walk, or simply learning the next step in an academic skill! I am looking forward to a fabulous school year here at Lloyd Wood Education Center.
