Mrs. Heather Pate

  • Hi, I’m Heather Pate, and I am a Preschool Teacher here in the Tuscaloosa County School System.  I work as a developmental evaluator for ages 2-6 for current students and new referrals.  I also assist with preschool service coordination for our school system through the special education department.   I have enjoyed working in Tuscaloosa County School System for over 17 years, and previously worked in DeKalb County School System in Georgia for 7 ½ years.  I am originally from Tuscaloosa, AL, and graduated from The University of Alabama with a dual degree in general and special education for young children.  My husband and I have a daughter in high school and a son in middle school.  We love spending time with family and friends, doing things outdoors, as well as cheering on the Tide!  I am passionate about working with young children, and seeing a child bloom and reach their full potential in their development as they grow, with whatever that may be from learning to engage with others, talk, walk, or simply learning the next step in an academic skill! I am looking forward to a fabulous school year here at Lloyd Wood education Center.
