    Experience
I started my career in education as a para-educator at Flatwoods Elementary.  This is my fifth year as a Special Education Teacher here at Flatwoods.  I love my job and my students! I truly enjoying seeing them achieve academically, as well as watching their
self-confidence grow as a result.  Besides teaching, I love advocating for my students, and other students at Flatwoods.  I not only care about them from an academic standpoint, but I try to invest in them from a whole child approach or perspective.  As educators, we spend a great deal of time teaching our students and trying to prepare them for the future.  During this process, our students also teach us.  They teach us the importance of patience, understanding, and devotion.  Our students also remind us of how positively impactful it is when we believe in each of them.

Besides teaching, I enjoy singing and playing piano, reading, going to church, spending time with my husband and family, and spoiling our fur baby.
