Hi!

My name is Heather LaFoy, and I will be your child’s teacher for gifted services this school year! I have always had a passion for teaching and helping students excel inside and outside of the classroom. I started teaching GATE in 2013. Prior to teaching GATE, I taught second grade. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama in Elementary Education in 2012. I graduated from Mississippi University for Women with my Master’s Degree in Gifted Education in 2015. My husband, Tyler, and I have two children, Piper (2018) and Campbell (2020)! I enjoy being outdoors, gardening, doing crafts, and reading. I am very excited for this year in GATE! We will have a lot of fun learning about what it means to be gifted, solving challenging puzzles and games, and learning about the world around us!
