Hello!! My name is Ms. Seeley. I am a Fourth Grade teacher at Lake View Elementary. The 2020-2021 school year will be my seventh year as a teacher. I taught three years in Third Grade, and this will be my fourth year in Fourth Grade. I earned my graduate degree in Elementary Education at The University of Alabama, and I earned my Master of Science in Education degree at Jacksonville State University. I grew up in Birmingham, AL with my two wonderful parents, David and Beverly, and my younger sister, Maggie. I currently live in Birmingham, AL with my weenie dog Khoda in my home that I bought four years ago. We are about to add two new additions to our family - Maggie and her husband, Will are expecting a baby this coming February, and I am getting Khoda a brother - another little weenie dog! In my free time I love to be outside hiking or in, on, and around water. Khoda usually joins me on all adventures, and his absolute favorite thing to do it swim! I spend a lot of time with my family. We lost my dad December 2019 to his 14 year battle with cancer, and we miss him greatly. Mom, Mag, Will, and I plus all 6 (soon to be 7) dogs hang out a lot. One of my favorite places in the world is the beach! My family and I have been staying along the 30A beaches since I was a baby. We get down there any chance we get!
I enjoy teaching and working with children. I strive to create a calm, collaborative, safe, interactive, and FUN learning environment. I stress the importance of manners, working well with others, keeping a growth mindset, and the importance of having fun while learning. I would have to say that my favorite subjects to teach are math and Social Studies.
