History
Classes were first held in our present main building in the fall of 1968. The enrollment has increased beyond the capacity of the original building. Many of our classes were housed in portable classroom buildings. In 1996, the Tuscaloosa County School Board provided funding to build a ten classroom addition to help accommodate our growing student body. In fall of 2002, a nine classroom addition eliminated remaining portable classrooms. Also, a new Brookwood Middle School opened in fall of 2002. We have a 10,000 square foot activity building which was provided from funds raised by the PTA. It is used for school assembly programs, PTA meetings, and physical education classes. In fall of 2003, renovation of the Library Media Center was completed. The Media Center was enlarged by incorporating a classroom located adjacent to the main room. In addition, a new conference/multi-media production room was created for faculty and students to use. The design of the Library Media Center has created excitement among students, parents, and teachers.
