Accountability
Accountability, as defined by Merriam Webster's Dictionary, is "an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one's actions."
The Tuscaloosa County School System is guided by several ACTs to strengthen relationships between our elementary, middle and high schools so that we can identify our areas of strength and our need for improvement as we work collectively to ensure that every child is a graduate and that every graduate is prepared for life.
For accountability to work, every effort toward improvement must be efficient and effective. It reflects the positive and negative ramifications of attendance, curriculum, instruction, school climate, school culture, discipline, professional development, assessment, guidance, child nutrition, and health services.
The two components to the Alabama Accountability Models are Alabama’s ESEA Accountability Model and Alabama’s PLAN 2020 Accountability Model.
