Ensembles 

Beginning Band - Here at Hillcrest Middle School, ANYONE in ANY GRADE can join band. It does not matter if you are in 7^th or 8^th grade, it is never too late to join the Band Family.  Beginning Band primarily focuses on the fundamentals of playing wind and percussion instruments as well as music reading. This ensemble will have two main performances, a Winter and a Spring concert.

Concert Band - The Concert Band is comprised of 7^th and 8^th graders who have completed one year of beginning band. The ensemble continues to refine fundamentals of playing wind and percussion instruments as well as music reading. The Concert Band will perform at a Winter and Spring concert, as well as Music Performance Assessment in the spring.

Jazz Band - Students who have participated in one year of Beginning Band can join this ensemble. Any instrument is allowed to join, with the addition of the drumset, piano, guitar, and bass. This ensemble will provide students with another opportunity to learn and perform on their instrument, while playing a different genre of music than what is played in beginning band/concert band.
