Duncanville Middle School opened its doors in August of 2008 with approximately 250 students. We were welcomed to the Duncanville community with open arms. Since that time community members have been very helpful with many campus additions. Our first project was a practice field for our football team which we hope to turn in to a completed football field in the future. With help from State and Local government representatives, PARA, faculty, staff and parents Duncanville was able to play its first home baseball game in the spring of 2010. In 2011 lights were added and the field is fully utilized at this time. A grass infield was added in 2020. In 2011 we also began a softball field and played on the field at the end of the 2011-2012 school year. The beautiful field sits on top of a hill overlooking the school. Duncanville Middle is one of only a few middle schools with their own softball field. We complete the field once lights were added in 2015.
In 2011 new zone lines were drawn for the Hillcrest school zone area. We then welcomed approximately 250 more students to our school for the 2011-2012 school year. The students for this year came to us from Maxwell, Englewood and Hillcrest Middle schools. This allowed us to open a previously unoccupied wing.
Big Sandy Elementary school opened in the 2013-2014 school year. There students came from Taylorville Primary and Englewood Elementary. These students began attending Duncanville Middle School in the 2014-2015 school year.
At this time we house approximately 500 students.
