I want to make you aware of a situation that happened at school today. A bullet was discovered on the floor of one of our classrooms. We immediately involved law enforcement and enacted our safety plan, to search for any weapons on our campus. The search uncovered no weapons. 

I wanted to make you aware of this situation so you would know the facts, if your student mentions it to you. Only a few students were aware there was a bullet, but many of our fourth and fifth grade students may have heard about the situation. Also, please make sure your student knows that absolutely no weapons or bullets are allowed in our school, and bringing these items to school carries serious disciplinary consequences. 

The safety of our students is our highest priority. Please reach out to me directly with any questions or concerns about this incident.
