Vance Elementary School

I grew up in Pickens County in a wonderful Christian home with my parents and one sister. After graduating from Pickens Academy in Carrollton, Alabama I married Billy Perkins and moved to Northport. During the next several years I loved being a wife, stay at home mother, and part time student. As my two children neared school age, I completed my degree at The University of Alabama and then began teaching at Vance Elementary.  The 2019-2020 school year will be my 26th year of teaching.  I taught kindergarten for 6 years, first grade for 1 year, second grade for 17 years, and this is my second year as a reading and math Interventionist.  

I live in Northport, Alabama with my husband and our maltipoo named Miss Lola Marie.  My son, Lance, is a graduate of The University of Alabama and lives in Northport, Alabama.  Lance works with his father at Perkins Cabinet Shop in Northport.   My daughter, Hannah Robertson, is a nurse and the mother to my only grandchild. 

I enjoy traveling, reading, spending time with my family and participating in church activities.  I also enjoy sewing and using my Cricut to make shirts and signs.   I am an active member of Indian Lake Baptist Church where I love teaching boys and girls about Jesus.
