    The vision statement of the counseling department at Northport Intermediate School is that all students are active, compassionate, life-long learners who realize their value and worth.  They become knowledgeable and resilient adults who appreciate diversity and use empathy as well as academic, social/emotional and career knowledge to reach their fullest potential to make a positive difference in their home, workplace and global community. 

    Northport Intermediate School Counseling Program Mission Statement 

    The mission statement of the Northport Intermediate School Counseling Department is to provide all students with equitable access to a comprehensive school counseling program. Students will be taught to treat others with fairness and compassion, learning the importance of respecting others to be successful citizens and future leaders. Through the leadership of the school counselor, students will focus on their academic, career and social/emotional growth. The school counselor will advocate for every student to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to become successful, lifelong learners. Through collaboration with students, parents, teachers and community members, the school counseling program will have the support and resources to prepare and empower students to make positive contributions to our global society.
