- Brookwood Middle School
- Meet the Teacher
-
My name is Paula Burchfield Jennings and this is my first year as a teacher at Brookwood Middle School. I am originally from Brookwood and graduated from Brookwood High School in 1998. My father was a coal miner for 36 years at Jim Walters, so I am very familar with the community, its culture, and the history surrounding it. It is great to be back "Home". My motto is "Once a Panther, always a Panther".
Additionally, I have been in the education field for 12 years. Prior to this year, I have worked at Hillcrest Middle School and Eastwood Middle School. I have a Bachelor's of Arts in English and History from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide) and a Master's of Education in Special Education from Grand Canyon University.
Even though all of my family members still live in the Brookwood area, I currently reside with my husband, five cats, and three dogs in Taylorville. My husband is a history professor at Stillman College and the University of Alabama. In my spare time I enjoy watching Alabama football, going to Minnesota Twins games during the summer, playing with my fur children, and spending time with my niece and nephews.
I am extremely excited to teach your children and you can reach me anytime via email (pmjennings@tcss.net) or by calling the school (205-342-2748). Please feel free to reach out to me anytime!!
