Background & Philosophy

   I grew up in Northport, which is where I went to school and met my husband, Cameron. We’ve been married 6 years and we have a two year old son, Elijah. I enjoy camping, reading, listening to podcasts, and of course playing with my son!

   I chose this profession because I believe that teachers are a crucial component to the future of our nation, because educators are teaching the members of our future generation. One of my goals as a teacher includes learning how to better assist students in gaining knowledge and gaining a passion for learning. In my experiences, students tend to gain the most knowledge when the learning process is fun and engaging. In my classroom, students will participate in hands-on learning through whole group lessons, small group activities, and free choice centers.
