I am so blessed to be the Assistant Principal at Englewood Elementary School. I am a graduate of the University of West Alabama with a Master's Degree in Instructional Leadership and the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Elementary/Early Childhood Education. I previously served at Vance Elementary School as the Local Reading Specialist, an interventionist, and prior to that, a 3rd grade teacher. I have also taught in the Hale County School District. In my career, I have had the pleasure of working with students at every grade level from Kindergarten through the eighth grade.

I live in Tuscaloosa with 3 of my 4 amazing children. I enjoy spending time in nature, walking for exercise, reading, visiting farmers markets, and, most importantly, spending time with my favorite only grandson, Ashur. I consider myself to be a life-long learner and an advocate for students and teachers.

One of my favorite quotes is by educator, Rita Pierson: Every child deserves a champion—an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.
