Students will check out books one day per week during their class "Library/Technology Lesson".  Students who are absent on their library day can request specific books for the librarian check out and deliver to them. 

Remote students may request books via Schoology or email jthompson@tcss.net. Remote students can keep books for two weeks.

Students are allowed to check out five books for the week. The books will be overdue after two weeks. However, if a student needs additional time to read the book, he/she may recheck the book.

LOST OR DAMAGED BOOKS

• Fees:
  • $20.00 hardback or library bound; $7.50 for a paperback
  • Payment for a damaged book is due immediately. 
  • You may wait and pay for a lost book when inventory is complete in May to see if it turns up.
    • If you pay for a hardback or library bound book and it is found within the same school year, $10.00 will be refunded
    • Paperback book charges are nonrefundable.
  • Late fees are not charged  
  • Replacement books are NOT accepted in lieu of the fine. 
    • The fine is a standard price set by the district, not necessarily the cost of the book.
  • • Damaged fines will be assesd for:
      • Moisture damage- however minor
      • Body fluid of any kind
      • Pulled or shredded spine
      • Excessive damage 
        • Some of our books are older and have minor damage; your child will not be charged for this.

    I understand that it can be frustrating to pay for a lost or damaged book, but please remember that your payment helps us keep the library full of updated books for our students for many years. Consider it a donation to your child's school library program.
