Math Coach

            My name is Mrs. Kim Porter and I am so excited about this upcoming school year.  It's going to be a great year!  

This is my seventh year at Westwood.  I have been married to my husband, Shawne, since 2002.  We have two children, Joshua and Mei-Anna.  Joshua will be attending the University of Mobile this Fall.  Mei-Anna attends Sipsey Valley High School. I am very proud of both of my children.

I began my teaching career at Berry Elementary School in Fayette County.  I taught 4th and 1st grade while at Berry.  In 2004 I moved to Huntington Place Elementary to 4th grade.  I transferred to the Library Media Specialist position after one year and enjoyed that position until the end of school year 2015.  In 2015 I came to Westwood and enjoyed six years teaching first grade.  This year I am so excited about my new position as Math Coach for Westwood.  I hope to ignite a love for math across grade levels.
