Faucett-Vestavia Elementary, August 2012- present-2012/2013 K-2 Special Education-2013/2021 Kindergarten-2021/current 1st GradeBioI am married to my wonderful husband, Tim. We have a eight-year-old son, Jase, a five-year-old daughter, Jana, a three-year-old son, Micah, and a one-year-old daughter, Abby. My husband is the youth and college minister at Grace Church where we attend. Between Tim, my babies, and our students I do not have much spare time. However when I do have spare time I enjoy being outside, spending time with my family, traveling, and being with friends. Some of my favorite things include the color green, mexican food, Coke Zero, fruity candy and black coffee.
I have lived in Tuscaloosa my whole life. I went to Tuscaloosa County High School and graduated from the University of Alabama in 2012. At the University of Alabama I went through the Multiple Abilities Program and have degrees in special education and general education. In 2018, I graduated with a Masters in Education from the University of West Alabama. I also became a National Board Certified teacher in 2021.
This is my twelfth year teaching at FVES and my third year in 1st grade. Before 1st grade, I taught one year of kindergarten through second grade special education and 8 years of kindergarten. I absolutely love teaching 1st grade! It is my mission to instill a love for learning in all my students and give them a solid foundation to grow. I love to teach through crafts, singing, and dancing. Please let me know if you have any questions and concerns. It is so important for us to keep communication open between us and I would love to talk to you whenever you feel the need. I look forward to a great year together!
