• Hi, my name is Michael Middleton Jr.  I am the teacher of the great kids here at Echols Middle School.  I have been at Echols ever since it was founded in 2001 and have been teaching for 23 years.  I have a BS degree in Education with a focus on Secondary Education Comprehensive Social Sciences from the University of Alabama.  I also have a Masters Degree in Gifted and Talented Education from the Capstone and am certified K-12.  I have spent the majority of my career teaching the gifted and talented students at Lloyd Wood M.S., Collins-Riverside M.S., and now Echols Middle School.  I am currently teaching Social Studies 8 classes.  I look forward to meeting the new students as well as seeing the familiar faces I have already taught.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.
