    Education
    I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 1989 from Auburn University.  After interning overseas in England, I began my teaching career in Huntsville, AL.
    Experience

    I began teaching first grade in Huntsville, AL in 1989.  After teaching for 3 years, I became engaged to Phil and moved to Birmingham.  I was fortunate to get another job teaching first grade at Grantswood Elementary School in Irondale.  After teaching there for 3 years, my husband accepted a job in Tuscaloosa.  I also happened to be pregnant with my first child and did not return to teaching until 2004, when my second child started 2nd grade.  This is my 16th year to teach Art at TPS after taking a brief hiatus to teach for Christie Dover.  I absolutely love this job and look forward to coming to work every day!  Teaching your children Art is one of my favorite things to do!
    Bio
    I am originally from Huntsville, AL.  I attended Auburn University and loved every minute of it.  I still like to see Auburn win and cheer for them unless they're playing the Tide!   I have been married for 28 years to Phil, a local banker.  We have two sons:  Mason, 25, who is a CPA in Birmingham.  Sam , 24, is a civil engineer working in San Antonio, TX.  We also have 3 dogs that we ADORE:  Max, a yorkie, Tucker and Charlotte, Brittany spaniels.    I enjoy reading and exercising!  I tell everybody I have the best job in the world.
