    I graduated from The University of West Alabama in 2000 with a BS degree in Elementary Education. I also earned National Board Certification in 2005 in the area of Middle Childhood Generalist, and recertified in 2015. Now, I hold professional learning groups for other teachers in the state seeking this certification.
    Experience
    After graduating from The University of West Alabama in 2000, My husband and I returned to Tuscaloosa, where I taught first grade at Stillman Heights Elementary. Following that year, I taught second grade at Southeast Elementary in Meridian, MS. I was a Southeast Tiger for five wonderful years. After leaving Meridian, I began teaching first grade at TPS, and have also worked as a Reading Specialist. I feel blessed to be teaching now for my 21st year, and truly love second grade. I hope this will be the best year yet!
    Bio
    My husband, Chad, and I have been married for 22 years, and are natives of Tuscaloosa County. We graduated from Hillcrest High School, and later from The University of West Alabama. After college,  the small town of Livingston was our home for ten years. In 2006, we moved back to T- town. We have three boys: Tyler is 18, Gage is 17, and Grey is 10.  These three give us so much to smile about! I feel very fortunate to come to a job that I love every day. Children are one of the best treasures this world has to offer! Thank you for sharing yours with me!
