My name is Glenda Sims and I am a first grade teacher here at Taylorville Primary School. I have Master's degrees in Early Childhood Education  and Counseling Psychology. I am a Ms. native, but moved to Alabama in 2002. My husband Steve and I have been married for 19 years. He is the principal at Collins-Riverside Intermediate School and and has been in education for 17 years. We have two children Braylen and Brooklyn, a miniature schnauzer (Bella Rose) and a gold fish (Turbo). I love spending time with family and friends, sports, and laughing because its good for the soul. 

 I began my teaching career in January 2020 (two months later came COVID-19). However, I have worked with children and families for over 15 years (education specific the last five years). Last year, I had the opportunity to teach first grade remotely the entire school year!  I am so grateful to be apart of the faculty and staff at Taylorville Primary. I look forward to experiencing the many memories and different teaching and learning paths that's destined to take place this school year. I am reminded that team work makes the dream work. Together, we will make this year great!
