    Experience

I have been working with children all of my life.  My mother was a teacher in Fayette County and so I have had a lot of hands-on experience.  Right after my high school years, I began working at First Wesleyan Academy.  I worked there for two years and then moved to Montevallo to finish up my degree in Education.  I worked at Univeristy Baptist Daycare for two years.  I then graduated with my degree in Early childhood/Elementary Education.  I substituted for one semester in the Tuscaloosa County and Fayette County school systems.  My first job was as an aide at Huntington Place Elementary School in a kindergarten classroom.  Then in December of 2000 I began teaching at Myrtlewood Elementary School in Fosters.  I taught there for five and a half years.  I taught kindergarten for one semester, second grade for three years, third grade for one year, and a first/second combination class for one year.  I taught first grade at Huntington Place and Northport for two years each.  In the Fall of 2010, I became the counselor of Northport Elementary School.
