My name is Lee Boyd, and I am a PreK teacher at Walker Elementary. This will be my thirty-fourth year in the field of education. Most of those have been at Walker. I have had the honor of teaching the children of former students! Probably time to retire! I was born and raised in Nashville,Tennessee. However, I left the "Big Orange" country to cheer for "The Tide". At the University of Alabama, I received my B.S. and M.A. in Early Childhood Education.
My husband, Jimmy, and I have two children- Hooper and Harrison. My oldest carried on the Bama tradition. He graduated with a degree in engineering and works with a firm in Nashville. This spring he got married, so now I have a daughter to cherish. My other son attends college in Nashville- he is studying business and playing basketball. In my spare time, I travel the road between here and Nashville to visit family. I also enjoy skiing, gardening, reading books, sipping a Starbucks, and taking a trip (or two) to the beach.
Teaching is truly a passion for me. I want my classroom to be challenging, inspiring, imaginative,and a safe place to grow, learn, and make mistakes without fear. It is a place where ALL are welcome and worthy!!
