AP Computer Science Principles Homepage

  • Hello, and welcome to AP Compute Science Principles. Hopefully after this course you will have a new and deeper understanding of computers and programming or "coding". There are lots of different ways to program, and I truly believe that coding is an art more than it is a science. We will primarily be using Code.org curriculum, but we will also be doing some other activities and using some other sites and apps as well. You will need to create an account at Code.org (which I believe requires a personal email account). You (as well as your parents) will need to sign up for remind for this class. If you aren't familiar how this works, then you need either text the code @nshsapcsp to 81010 or download the app on your smart phone and search for the class using the code mentioned.

There will be various assignments for a grade throughout the course including homework, classwork, test, and projects.

We will also be reading a book throughout the semester called "Blown to Bits"  (ISBN 0-13-485001-7) by Abelson, Ledeen, Lewis and Seltzer. It corresponds nicely to the curriculum in the course and is an informative and interesting read. A picture of the cover is shown below.
