When you are a second-semester junior or senior in high school you should start your Admissions Candidate file by filling out a Candidate Questionnaire on line at www.usma.edu/admissions. To request additional information about West Point, write to the Director of Admissions, United States Military Academy, 646 Swift Road, West Point, New York 10996-1905, and you will receive an Admissions Prospectus with a Candidate Questionnaire. You should do this in the spring of your junior year or as soon thereafter as possible. Students in their sophomore year of high school or the lower grades will receive special information on how to prepare for admission to West Point. You must receive a nomination from an authorized source to be considered for an appointment to the Military Academy. You will be evaluated in the areas of academics, leadership potential, and physical aptitude, and must also meet medical qualification standards and Army appearance standards regarding tattoos and brands.
