After high school I attended Auburn University at Montgomery and worked in Montgomery, Alabama as an Art Director for an advertising agency. I would often teach individuals and home school students on the weekends and I enjoyed personal interaction in teaching. After a few years at the agency, I came to the realization that I would enjoy teaching much more and I earned my BS in Art Education at The University of Alabama. My teaching career began at Holt High School where I taught 5 years.  I then took 10 years off from teaching as my husband and I began our family of 5 children.  In 2004, I returned to teaching at Northside Middle and High School and eventually ending up at Walker Elementary and Northside High.  I've been blessed to teach at Walker Elementary for over 12 years.  I also enjoy coaching the Northside Cross Country/Track and Field Boys and Girls team at NHS.  This has lead me to create a running club here at Walker  - RamRunners.  This club is available to 5th - 8th graders.  RamRunners has helped many students learn to enjoy running and the discipline of a healthy lifestyle of excercise.  Many of my runners on the high school team have come from the RamRunner club.  Please contact me if you're interested in your child joining!  We meet every Tuesday and Thursday 3:15 - 4:15.
